Born in Springfield, Illinois, Christi's inspiration symbiotically formed during a 15 year career in a science based arena. Throughout her studies she paired science with fine art. In 2002 she studied metalsmithing in Florence, Italy and earned her BFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2006.
"Observing my life in the past and in the present is what influences my work. I create objects relating to my experiences of collegiate studies of both science and art. Presently, I am intrigued in the area of biology from the very basic to the most complex. My inspiration comes from the beauty of plant life cycles and from microscopic images of the plants I have nurtured. My aim is to combine these observations with unique metalsmithing techniques as well as incorporating ornament, dimension, design and color. I aspire to craft an interesting, wearable form of art to be loved by the adorned."
